3 months old!

Owen turned 3 months old this week!  And did away with his going-to-bed-nicely the way he had the first couple of nights in his new crib last week... he and mama have been sleeping together again for the time being.  We think he's growing, and also feeling teething pain as he is gnawing and slobbering on everything in sight.  Mom and Owen went to Baby Kino this week with Sandra, Olga and Anna and their babies--we saw 'Silver Linings', seemingly with an choir of cats in the background.  It was fun to see all those mamas and babies, all about Owen's age, filling up the theater and squawking the whole time.  It wasn't the most relaxing experience I've ever had... but I'll probably try it again.  Oh and the movie itself was great!

Naked babyness is adorable
His back fat is just too much, I had to document it

Practicing walking with Daddy

This week we visited Sandra, who loves how cuddly Owen is

Best friend Juno, they loved laying next to eachother

She's caught up to him in size!

With the big snow last week, we all went out for a long snowshoe hike

Daddy had Owen in the Manduca carrier

I love my snowshoes!
And Owen loves chewing on his monkey.

Happy New Year, Owen's 10 weeks old

Owen had a great first week of 2013, reaching new milestones like reaching out and grabbing his toy, and weighing in at the 95% for his age... no wonder his clothes are all too tight!  He's talking to us a lot more, oftentimes trying to charm us into picking him up if we've (gasp!) set him down for a few mins to eat a meal or take a shower.  The kid loves to be held.  Thankfully he loves his sling, so at least (like right this minute) he can be held close AND we can have at least one good arm to do other things with. Mama can't wait until he learns to hold his head up so that he can be carried around on her back--then they would be unstoppable.  For now though mom and dad do for the most part enjoy rocking, bouncing and stair walking him to sleep, and are often amused at the positions he falls into sleep in on our laps.  The doctor this week called him a very friendly boy, as he flirted with her and the medical assistant during his exams.

Owen is suddenly interested in this toy, and very quickly learned to reach out and grab it.

Dreaming he's Superman?

Getting too big for his britches, literally.

Favorite place to fall asleep.

Dad can even use his practi-caster while using the sling.

Mama realized she can take arms-length photos when Dad's not home.  And Owen will look at the camera!

He's sometimes a very serious boy.

'Hi dad, I love you.'
