5 months old, US visit, and Daddy's birthday today!

Owen and family had a big month!  We took our trip to the States to introduce Owen to lots of family and friends.  He needed a few days to get over jet lag but once he did he enjoyed meeting everyone and received lots of love in return.  All in all Owen took 8 flights, and only on one of them was there a lot of crying... by the end, he seemed to get the hang of flying and slept most of the way back to Austria from Chicago.  Mom and Dad, on the other hand, were exhausted upon return, but had a wonderful time with our family and friends.  Mom and Dad even got to have two dinner dates, and Owen had his first babysitters (Erin, Grandpa Lindauer, MeeMaw, Grandpa Vyleta, and Jan).  We ate wonderful meals (prepared by Great-Grandma Grace, MeeMaw Laura, and Grandma Guseilo), did some serious shopping, met baby Ayla, Nick accompanied Grandpa Lindauer out shoeing one day, we visited Amish friends, played with Willow, got to the beach, watched Abby play football and caught up with high school friends in Ohio.  It was great fun and we loved seeing everyone.  Can't wait to do it all again next year, on our way back to Portland.... !

Erin put him to sleep with a head rub.

Four month old Owen does look a little bit like 4 month old Mama.

At the airport, going to see Auntie Abby!

Owen obviously took a while to warm up to her...

New favorite trick, holding his toes!

Abby took us to St. Augustine beach

Looking at the ocean for the first time.

Not a bad vacation spot!

Taking the 'free' tour train of St. Augustine.

Yum, breakfast out.

Abby took this from our balcony--that's Owen and me coming back from the beach.

After leaving Florida and arriving back in Chicago, poor guy loved stripping down for a bath after a long travel day!

  3. Annie, although I do feel older, that picture is an optical illusion. No gray yet ;).

It would be great to see you and hang out as families. We will try to make that happen when we come back. We're pondering a cross-country road trip...

Hi to Brendon et al! :) - Nick
